PCR-W/W2 Series

High Efficiency AC Power Supplies (CV/CF) : 5 Models


Outline

With a primary development concept of improved efficiency and low cost, the PCR-W/W2-Series, regulated AC power supply, features a balance of performance, function, quality, and cost based on the technology and know-how established with the PCR-L Series of products. Specifically, PWM inverter system was used for the power unit, providing the power supply with improved efficiency (by approximately 75 %), low-input current demand, and a considerably downsized and lightweight package design. The PCR-W/W2-Series power supply features a wide input range and high-quality, powerful output (as well as a reduction in low-waveform distortion, and the provision of high response speed and low power-factor load) for worldwide application, and is equipped not only with measurement and output capabilities for AC parameters such as RMS value, peak value, power, and power factor, but also with DC output and AC+DC output modes. With these features, the capabilities of the PCR-W/W2-Series power supply go beyond ordinary AC power supply, providing greater convenience.
Moreover, with one unit of the PCR-W2-Series product, utilization of both single-phase and three-phase outputs of the same capacity is possible simply by changing the position of the selector switch. This enables the user to eliminate installation of individual single-phase and three-phase systems as had previously been necessary, thus enabling the budget and space to be utilized more efficiently.

    High quality output like that of the linear amplifier system has been achieved: voltage waveform distortion less than 0.5%, voltage response speed of 60 µ s (standard value).

    Output voltage/current real effective value, peak value, DC mean value, and electric power are displayed on the panel. Using optional accessories, power factor, VA measurement and peak hold current measurement are also possible.

PCR-M Series

Outline

The PCR-M Series is a small-size AC power supply with the ease of a variable auto transformer or an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) and the usefulness of a multifunctional AC power supply. As the PWM inverter method is adopted for the power unit, the PCR-M Series is much smaller and lighter than the predecessors while enabling high-quality and highly-efficient (about 70%) operation. This power supply comes with measurement functions, memory function, protection functions and various communication interface options, and it is even possible to provide DC power. When you incorporate an optional analog interface board (EXO4-PCR-M), the PCR-M Series can also be used as a booster for arbitrary signal generator. This small and versatile unit can provide you with more work styles than you can imagine. You can’t do without it once you use it!

PCR-LE2 Series

Multi-output AC Power Supplies (CV/CF) : 5 Models

Outline

The PCR-LE2 Series are designed based on the PCR-LE Series that supports single-phase output, single-phase 3-wire output, and three-phase output within the rated capacity by selecting the switch from the front panel operation.
The PCR-LE2 series offer the same basic performance, using the common power unit of the PCR-LE Series, with providing easier installation and saving the space more efficiently compare to the individual allocation of the system for a single phase, single-phase 3-wire, and three phase systems. The lineup of PCR-LE2 Series are available in 5 models:6 kVA, 9 kVA, 12kVA, 18kVA, and 27 kVA model.

  • Power line abnormality simulation
    In AC mode, it is possible to simulate power line abnormalities by setting the output of the PCR-LE2 series system to the state of a power outage, voltage drop (dip), or voltage increase (pop). This allows the ability to test switching power supplies and electronic equipment.
  • Various measuring functions
    Output voltage/current RMS values, peak voltage/current, effective power/apparent power, and power factor can be measured. It is possible to analyze harmonics (up to 40th order) of the output current.
  • Sequence function
    The output voltage, frequency, and waveform can be changed along the way, thus, power supply environment testing can be automated. In addition to AC output, DC output and AC + DC output in sequence are also available. With the resolution setting by increments of 0.1 ms, the system provides functions to set the starting phase, sudden phase shift, as well as a jump and pause function.
  • Sensing, Regulation adjustment
    Even in cases in which load units are installed remotely, the voltage (RMS value) at the end of the load can be stabilized through correction of voltage drops. Hardware sensing and software sensing are provided as sensing function, allowing you to selectively use either one accordingly with the load condition and application.
  • Output current control
    The current limiting function enables you to control the output current (RMS) at a certain level for continuous operation by a selectable time setting (time/continuous) for a trip operation. Continuity tests for electric facilities (distribution panels, circuit breakers, devices for wiring, etc.) can be performed under stable conditions.

      The power unit goes into the sleep mode when no output is detected for a certain time to cut down on the power consumption.

Outline

The PCR-LE Series is a new line of advanced multifunctional AC power supply that has been developed from our PCR-L/LA Series (linear amplifier type). The PCR-LE Series provides high reliability and can be applied to various applications, by taking advantage of the features that can control broadband waveform freely. Moreover, the PCR-LE Series can be configured as a core device of a test system combined with E-loads and Power Analyzers for “Grid Connection Testing” in regard to dispersed power generation, such as Solar Power, Wind Power, Fuel Cell, and Gas Engine referred to as “New Energy Field”.
With various options, the low frequency immunity test and various power enviroment tests are supported. The options for parallel operation and three-phase operation enable you to expand a single-phase system up-to 27kVA, single-phase three wires up-to 54kVA, and a three-phase system up to 81kVA. The system can be applied to a large-scale EMC site for testing of industrial high-capacity air conditioners.

PBZ Series


Outline

The PBZ series is a bipolar type DC regulated power source that can continuously change both + and – polarities passing through 0 without changing the output terminal.
By adopting a “Switching + Linear” system, the PBZ is able to realize both drastic weight reduction as well as high speed and low noise operation. Since operation covers 4 quadrants, power can be both supplied (source) and absorbed (sink). The PBZ can also drive inductive or capacitive loads. The unit also equips a signal generator function which enables waveform and sequence creation. The PBZ is also capable of synchronized operation which is required for voltage variation tests, and it can also be expanded for large current applications through master-slave parallel operation.

  •  Waveform generation function
    In addition to the basic sine, square and triangular waveforms, the PBZ series is equipped with a user-defined waveform generating function that can register up to 16 waveforms. It allows the amplitude, frequency, start phase, frequency sweep and square wave duty to be set as needed.
    The 16 user-defined waveforms can be freely edited, and the original created and edited waveforms can be registered and easily recalled for use. The sequence function allows each waveform to be set as a single step, and a maximum of 1024 steps can be set in the 16 programs.
  •  Sequence function
    The basic sine, triangular and square waveforms, as well as the 16 user-defined waveforms, can each be set as a sequence step, allowing even complex sequences to be created easily. Sequences are composed of up to 1024 steps.This combination of steps forms a program, and the 1024 steps can be allocated and set in a maximum of 16 programs. When executing sequences, in addition to executing a single program, the script function also allows multiple programs to be combined and executed as needed.
    A script is a function that specifies the sequence and number of repetitions for the set programs. A maximum of 50 lines can be set in 1 script. 1 script can be set each for CV and CC mode.
    As shown in the figure, when Program 1 uses 8 steps, 1024 – 8 = 1016, the remaining 1016 steps can be allocated to the remaining 15 programs.
  •  Synchronized operation function
    This function synchronizes the power output when a sequence is executed using multiple PBZ.It prevents time deviations from occurring even when a long sequence is executed.
    * A delay of up to 1μ s occurs at the start.
  •  Parallel operation function
    This function expands the output current. It allows multiple units to be connected in parallel according to the required current. With 2 standard units of the same model and the optional parallel operation kit, the user can easily complete the setup.
    Although up to 5 units can be operated in parallel, if 3 or more units will be used, please consult with us.
  •  Unipolar mode
    This is a function unique to this product. Because the voltage is unipolar, this function is called “unipolar mode”. With unipolar power, although the current flows in a single direction, in unipolar mode it is still possible to apply current in both directions (source and sink). As shown in the diagram, on a graph with perpendicular axes of voltage (vertical) and current (horizontal), operation is possible in quadrant 1st and 2nd quadrants (2 quadrants). In bipolar mode, there are power restriction areas (PBZ20-20: 100W, PBZ40-10: 180W, PBZ60-6.7/PBZ80-5: 200W) in 2nd and 4th quadrants. However in unipolar mode, operation is possible in the full area of 2 quadrants.
  • Control via browser (”with LAN” model)
    The LAN interface applies to the LXI (LAN eXtensions for Instrumentation)*. If that interface is used, it is possible to control and monitor the power supply from a browser.

  •  Rack system (PBZ SR/BP series)
    The PBZ SR/BP series is a series of high-power bipolar DC stabilized power supplies. The PBZ SR/BP series are designed based on the PBZ Intelligent Bipolar power supply series, that supports large currents (up to ±200 A) and is assembled with exclusive rack system (Smart Rack). The4-quadrant operation allows the power to be supplied (source) or absorbed (sink), and it is suitable for driving inductive loads or capacitive loads. Also, the PBZ SR/BP series are equipped with LAN, USB, GPIB, and RS232C as standard communication interfaces.
